The project ZUKUNFT SÄEN! promotes an ecological horticulture that works without GMO’s in harmony with humans and nature. The initiative is organised once a year by the Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l. Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled this year due to the current circumstances, but...
Usually, we are sowing a field of one of the Bio-Lëtzebuerg members per hand along with motivated sowers. Last year, the action took place at the organic farm “An Néckels” belonging to the family Hamen in Drauffelt.
In order to prevent the event from being completely cancelled, Bio-Lëtzebuerg and Oiko-Bakhaus came up with a special idea. The wheat that had been sowed at the organic farm during last year’s project was partly used in the ZUKUNFTSBROT 2020 (bread of the future 2020), which is sold in the NATURATA stores.
10% of the total turnover resulting from sales of the ZUKUNFTSBROT 2020 are donated to the Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l. The association on the other hand is donating the amount to the seed cultivist Peter Kunz, who supports the ecological breeding of cereals and thus maintains the sovereignty of the seeds. Consequently, the cycle is closed and the seeds are guaranteed for the following year.
