Last week, the ULC association visited BIOGROS. Among other things, the association takes care of consumer protection for Luxembourg consumers.
The reason for the meeting was the draft law by the Minister of the Environment, Carole Dieschbourg, to reduce packaging waste, especially single-use plastic packaging.
The new national packaging law covers fruit and vegetables weighing less than 1.5 kg, which may no longer be packaged in plastic films, trays, bags or similar. As already announced, BIOGROS has successfully introduced a plastic-free alternative, which is 100% recyclable and therefore should not fall under the new law. The ULC asked the wholesaler for an exchange with the aim of drafting a statement in relation to the upcoming law and to be able to represent the interests of the trade, but also of consumers.
We thank the association for their interest and commitment.
